The assignment Happy Socks x The Ocean CleanUp was a fictitious assignment I received from SintLucas. The Ocean CleanUp has a limited-edition line at Happy Socks.

I started with the new logo, in this logo both existing logos had to come back.

Then I continued with the pattern.

For the design I made 'happy' sea creatures. The Ocean cleanup is for a serious problem, which is to remove the plastic that floats in the oceans in enormous quantities. Happy Socks clearly have to sell 'happy' socks. The socks had to be cheerful, but they had to draw attention to the problem. On the socks you see cheerful sea creatures, but if you look more closely, you see that they also have another side. These animals are made from plastic objects. So you don't actually see socks with a sea full of fun, happy animals here, but a sea that is completely full of plastic. If nothing is done about this problem, there will be more plastic than fish in the sea by 2050. This is the problem I wanted to show in the socks.
