For the Marconi project I was given the assignment from the Willem de Kooning Academy to design a spacious apartment in the 'Lee Towers', two residential towers in Rotterdam.

I made the apartment for city view North east. For the design of the apartment you had to work in the style of an architect. That architect was given, I got Richard Neutra. You also had to take into account the persona, the person who will live in the apartment. You could come up with this person yourself, there was one condition, the person had to have a crazy hobby.

My persona had the crazy hobby that he walks long distances on his hands. He has a successful job and is from LA, where much of Richard Neutra's work is located.

I made a mood board for this persona.

Then I looked for some inspirational work by Richard Neutra which I was going to have back in my apartment.

After this I started designing in the form of sketch models. This is where I continued to come to the final design.

My last sketch model has become the final design. I got inspiration for the materialization of the design at Broeinest in Rotterdam. Here I made a material mood board that fits Richard Neutra.
